Gender-responsive employment policy guideline for public service
In Georgia, women are underrepresented in the public sector workforce, with the gender gap widening significantly in top managerial positions. Promoting gender responsive employment policies and practices is essential to advancing gender equality and promoting women’s meaningful participation and leadership in public service.
The purpose of the Guide on Gender-responsive Employment Policies in Public Service is to promote and strengthen integration of gender equality principles in the employment systems and processes governing the functioning of the public service in Georgia. It provides an overview of the core elements of gender-responsive employment policies while introducing gender-responsive indicators and tools relevant for the human resources management processes in public service.
The Guide on the Gender-responsive Employment Policies in Public Service is a joint initiative of UN Women and the Civil Service Bureau of Georgia. The guideline was developed in 2024 within the framework of the “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia” project generously supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
