Time to care: Women’s unpaid care work and the inequality crisis in Georgia
The unequal gender distribution of unpaid care work is not only an essential barrier to women’s economic empowerment and women’s participation in public life more broadly, but also constitutes a major impediment to the social and economic well-being of communities at large.
This issue brief summarizes Time Use Survey findings related to unpaid care work and lays out general recommendations.
The publication was prepared within the framework of the UN Women implemented project “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia” supported by the Government of Norway and UN Women’s flagship programme - „Making Every Women and Girl Count“.
