Gender Assessment of Agriculture and Local Development Systems in Georgia
The Gender Assessment of Agriculture and Local Development Systems in Georgia was undertaken by ACT with technical and financial support of UN Women, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC). The study was updated in June 2018 by UN Women consultant Nato Alhazishvili within the framework of the inception phase of the project “Women’s Economic Empowerment in the South Caucasus”, funded by SDC. No new data was collected to update the original survey data.
This study provides an up-to-date analysis from a gender perspective of the existing policies, programmes and systems related to agriculture and local development implemented by national and local governments as well as key development partners. The study covers the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and five regions of Georgia: Kakheti, Samtskhe- Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti.
