The Rights of Women in Georgia in the 12th–18th Centuries - cover

To raise awareness of women's political participation and their historical contributions to Georgia’s political, social, economic, and cultural life, UN Women, in partnership with the Korneli Kekelidze National Center of Manuscripts, has published a book on the legal status and rights of Georgian women from the 12th to 18th centuries.

The publication compiles historical legal codes, acts, and judicial practices preserved at the Center, offering a comprehensive exploration of women’s legal standing and broader societal impact.

This publication was prepared within the framework of the UN Women project „Women’s Increased Leadership for Democracy in Georgia” (WILD) funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
