Today, on the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), we reiterate our solidarity with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI+) community in Georgia.
The LGBTQI communities are one of the most vulnerable and marginalized segments of Georgian society. Their members face discrimination and violence in different areas of life, and there are still significant challenges remaining with regard to the protection and realization of their rights.
The National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) took its work on gender statistics to another level by launching an electronic Gender Data Portal at the end of 2018.
