The role of the media in advocating the empowerment of women and gender equality should not be underestimated. It is also important for journalists to not only show interest towards these topics but also report on them in a gender-sensitive and ethical manner.

“Violence against women is an underlying factor for women’s low political participation,” stressed UN Resident Coordinator Sabine Machl at the 4 March meeting dedicated to the prevention of violence against women in politics and elections.

The six-day “How to Start a Business” course taught women in Georgia how to generate start-up ideas and validate them, as well as how to build the right team and create a product. They also developed strategic and innovative thinking, and learned about planning and product distribution, financial documentation, business modeling and investment proposals.
