In 2019, with the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Innovative Education Foundation, Geolab, and Universities of Batumi, Kutaisi, and Tbilisi, UN Women launched a free web programming and social media marketing training program and internship for women in western Georgia.

The Action Plan for 2016-2017 on the Measures to be Implemented for Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims was approved by N341 Decree of the Government of Georgia on 21 July, 2016.

The goal of the study was to identify the compliance of Georgia’s existing laws and practices with respect to women offenders to the United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Female Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders (Resolution A/Res/65/229), also known as the Bangkok Rules.
