How to Eliminate the Gender Pay Gap in Georgia

According to the 2024 data, the gender pay gap in Georgia amounted to 32 per cent. Women are paid less than men in every sector of the economy.

The document examines the causes of the gender pay gap in Georgia and evaluates the alignment of national legislation with international standards on equal pay. It also identifies the measures that Georgia is recommended to take to close the gender pay gap.

The document was prepared within the framework of the projects “Women’s Economic Empowerment in the South Caucasus” and “Women’s Increased Leadership for Resilient and Peaceful Societies”, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
