Economic Costs of Violence against Women in Georgia

This study report draws on findings from the Violence Against Women (VAW) Survey conducted in 2022 by UN Women and the National Statistics Office of Georgia, with generous support from the European Union and the “Making Every Woman and Girl Count – Phase II.”

The study estimates the economic costs of inaction resulting from violence against women—defined as the costs of failing to prevent or address violence—which are borne not only by survivors but also by their families, society, and the economy. The findings highlight the substantial economic and societal impact of VAW in Georgia.
