Developing Action Plan for 2016-2018 on Combating Violence against Women

Gudauri, Georgia - The Administration of the Georgian Government with the support of UN Women organized a workshop for developing the action plan for 2016-2018 on the measures to be implemented for combating violence against women and protection of victims. 

The representatives of the corresponding state agencies participated in the working meeting. As a result of the joint work the agreement has been reached on goals, tasks and activities of the action plan.  UN Women plans to organize training for representatives of the state agencies to elaborate the action plan indicators and part of the budget. As a result of these training these components will be incorporated in the action plan.

Involvement of non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders will be provided at the next stage of the work on the action plan. The Georgian Government plans to complete and approve the action plan for 2016-2016 on measures to be implemented for combating violence against women and protection of victims in January of the upcoming year.
